Outdoor wedding celebrations are always beautiful. There are so many benefits to an outdoor wedding space. It is my personal opinion that if the circumstances permits, every bride should figure out a way to plan even a portion of their wedding outdoors. An outdoor wedding guarantees certain elements that are key to exceptional photography: natural elements and natural lighting.

Potential of Garden Venues For A Wedding 

A beautiful option for an outdoor wedding is a garden wedding. Weddings typically incorporate many types of florals where a garden venue would fit in well. Through the years as weddings have evolved, florals are now being incorporated even more than ever. Bouquets and boutonnieres are classic wedding day accessories for a bride and groom. Then there are beautiful table centerpieces, ground installations, arches, and installs over tables as you elevate your floral design. Some of my favorite florists (Tinge Floral, Carpe Diem Floral Design, & Lambert Floral Studio) have done some really beautiful floral creations. One of my favorite garden wedding touches are ground installs that blend seamlessly with the florals already on the property. 

Why A Garden Wedding Venue

Garden weddings are feminine, personal, elegant, and timeless. A ceremony, portraits, and dinner surrounded by beautiful florals is something that will always be in style. With a garden wedding, you have the opportunity to really play with seasonal ingredients and to play with color. You have so many options for design. And having a garden landscape that is already designed with florals and greenery is the best place to start.

There will be natural foliage on the land that is seasonal and makes for a beautiful starting point for planners and floral designers to create from. Natural foliage would also be a great, foraged ingredient to incorporate into your bridal bouquet and tie everything together. Garden style weddings are feminine and elegant, they are also serene. Flowers are so unique and beautiful. Each bloom has different colors and petals and are one of the most luxury design elements.

One of the best venues for a garden wedding is a family home or private estate.  When planning a wedding at a family home or private estate, you have much more room to customize and make full use of the property. When using a venue, you are limited to the spaces the venue allows you to use, but at your home you can maximize every inch of the property. Venues often have design and décor restrictions, but your family’s home or private estate would not, making it extremely easy to fully carry out your vision for your day. My number one recommendation for a garden wedding is Le Mas de Poiriers in Provence. The property is absolutely incredible. A beautiful estate on a pear farm in Southern France. It’s an absolute summer dream. The interior and exterior are just exuding beauty at every turn with lush foliage, heirloom pieces, gorgeous French textiles, and so many spaces for wedding moments. The entire wedding weekend would be so gorgeous, and I know there would be so many photo opportunities.

Greystone Mansion

Greystone Mansion is a beautiful historic estate with such grandeur. This mansion estate is located in Beverly Hills making it perfect for a Los Angeles garden wedding. The ceremony site is absolutely perfect for a garden wedding and the grounds are so well kept with lush florals. There are so many locations for different parts of your day. Outdoor patio area for dinner and reception, rows of greenery and flowers for portraits, and open garden space for a ceremony. 

Kestrel Park

Kestrel Park is rich with existing florals and is the perfect setting for a garden celebration. Filoli Gardens is such a stunning property. The property is just asking for a garden wedding booming with florals. It is such a large property to use for any wedding celebration. Since this venue is outside of Santa Ynez, it is a close venue for a Los Angeles garden wedding.
